Auroral Oval Indicator Plots
Currently generated indicator plots are given in the following list. Plots
which are made obsolete by the arrival of new data are deleted automatically,
and plots are also deleted after 90 days. If there is no plot for the date in
which you interested, you can issue a request to create it using the form
below. The plots are Encapsulated Postscript files with names of the form
YYYY-MM-DD.eps
where YYYY, MM and DD are the year, month and day respectively. The presence
of a file with a similar name but having the extension .wip indicates
that a plot for that day is currently being generated.
There is currently enough data from December 1995 onwards to make the
indicator plots meaningful.
To produce a plot of the Contracted, Normal and
Expanded Ovals, select a date using the form below. The indicators
are re-calculated if there is new data since the last calculation, so this
process may take some time. If you return to this page a few minutes later the
plot should be ready.
