The Atmospheric Research Station: Aldershot

At the end of the first World War, responsibility for the Aldershot Wireless Station was moved from the Meteorological Office to the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. Under the supervision of Watson-Watt, the station was equipped for the study of atmospherics as part of the Radio Research Board's programme. Around 1924, the war office wished to re-occupy the Aldershot site and so the huts and equipment moved to Ditton Park, Slough.
