What you will need

WB01547_.gif (1452 bytes)

The experiment we would like your help with does not require specialist radio equipment. All you need is the following:-
  1. A radio/cassette recorder capable of receiving Medium Wave (MW) radio (about 500 to 1600 kHz). The experiment is easier if you have a digital radio
  2. A cassette (or more, if possible) at least 90 minutes long.
  3. A mains timer switch.
The experiment requires you to make recordings of the radio at dawn and dusk. Although a timer switch is not essential, without one of these you'll have to get up far too early!

The ideal apparatus is a digital radio/cassette player with a built-in timer.
