After the eclipse

When all the excitement has died down, rewind the cassette, reset the tape counter and again fast-forward through the recording to see if you can hear the radio station at any point. If you can, note the points on the tape counter at which the signal appeared for the first time, and faded for the last time.

Rewind the tape and reset the tape counter again. Time how long it takes to reach the two points on the tape counter while the cassette is playing. Add these to the time at which you started the recording in order to get the start and end times.
