Ionosonde at Port Stanley Failure, 18th January 2008.

On 18th January 2008 the Ionosonde at Port Stanley failed.

After investigation, it appears that the failed device cannot be replaced from our spares in Port Stanley. The spare will be shipped from Chilton to Port Stanley and in future both Chilton and Port Stanley ionosondes will be operating at risk.

It is anticipated that it will be a number of weeks before the replacement is deliverd and installed. Please contact Ruth Bamford R.A.Bamford@rl.ac.uk, Head of Ionospheric Monitoring at RAL, if you would like further information.
