Scintillating Science: Cutting-Edge Science Achieved Through the Observations of Radio Scintillation

South Africa National Space Agency (SANSA),
Hermanus (near Cape Town),
South Africa (15-19 July 2019)

Welcome to the home page of Scintillating Science: Cutting-Edge Science Achieved Through the Observations of Radio Scintillation
we expect around 40-50 participants to take part in this workshop
please register as early as possible to save disappointment.

This Workshop encompasses themes from all aspects of radio scintillation and these will be refined as we progress towards the Workshop:
- Ionospheric scintillation;
- Heliospheric scintillation;
- Interstellar scintillation;
- Applications of scintillation;
- Scintillation theory and modelling; and
- Engineering (concepts/requirements) and scintillation.

Workshop Overview:

The workshop aims to gather experts from the various fields encompassing all aspects of scintillation. It is intended to be a specialist scintillation workshop concentrating on science (and the domains in which it can be applied) through to engineering concepts/requirements through to theory/modelling. This naturally covers all the domains of radio scintillation including ionospheric, heliospheric, and interstellar, as well as applications of scintillation and how we can improve the science through advancement in observing and/or modelling capabilities.

The workshop also aims to look at ways in which we can more easily and efficiently share and access the various types of data between individual groups and across the different techniques/domains.

We will share ways that we model scintillation and explore what we can learn across the different domains, looking at the advantages and disadvantages of the available modelling we have available today and what we might want going into the future.
